Learn About The BIS Certification For Solar Modules
BIS Certification was not mandatory for all types of manufactured products. However, in 2009, the Indian Government made such certification mandatory for solar modules and cells. Thus, there appeared a new demand to obtain the BIS certification for solar modules. Accordingly, several consultants also came into the picture to help multiple dealers in this respect. Presently, the use of solar panels is increasing rapidly in India. Therefore, it is obvious that the number of solar panel manufacturers is also rising. The solar module suppliers thus must get the BIS certification to win the trust of the consumers. As per the experts, the demand for these modules will enhance more in the coming years.
Implementation Of Quality Control Measures
The government of India implemented various quality control measures for the solar modules. This created a lot of hurdles for the manufacturers. Moreover, accepting the change by obtaining special certification was very difficult for the manufacturers. However, the Government found that standardization of the solar modules was necessary. Therefore, it devised the process for BIS certification for solar modules. But the manufacturers felt that the new system will create a hindrance in the launch of the new products. So, only some companies were ready to accept the guidelines of the Government. They contacted the licensed consultants and obtained the BIS certificates.
In the later stage, there were new measures for solar module manufacturers. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy stated that the names of the certified suppliers will be there in the approved list. Therefore, it became compulsory for the solar module suppliers to obtain the BIS certification for solar modules. The certificates are necessary for all types of modules like inverter, battery, and others.
Concern Of The Suppliers
The suppliers of solar modules were showing concern for two things. One was definitely the BIS certification and the other was selling their products smoothly. Furthermore, an additional requirement was getting enlisted on the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers. So, they expressed all these problems and doubts. They felt that the strict BIS standards are not as per the latest editions. Due to the lack of updation, the module suppliers were facing high difficulties. Also, they were unable to introduce any new technologies to the solar panel market of India. The professionals also understood the problem agreed with the same. It was indeed true that BIS certification for solar modules was important. But the standards should be updated as well. No outdated technique can take the industry to the top. Moreover, it can adversely impact the overall economic condition of the nation.
